This Shiratake Hachijuppon Chasen was made in Takayama, Nara by Master Craftsman Inoue Wakasa (井上若狭).
Crafted from carefully selected white bamboo and finished with black thread, this Hachijuppon chasen is a beautifully versatile whisk — perfect for beginners, experienced matcha drinkers, or anyone who wants a long-lasting tool. Its slender 2.3 cm handle sits naturally in the hand, making whisking feel light and comfortable.
Each piece is entirely handmade and one-of-a-kind, adapted to the unique properties of that individual piece of bamboo. That devotion is something you feel the moment it's in your hands.

A NOTE TO YOU
Before its first use, allow the whisk to bloom in warm water. This softens the delicate tines and prepares them for the many bowls of matcha to come.
