Created to celebrate The Powder Room's birthday, this limited edition of just 10 handcrafted chawan marks a special milestone. 

Inspired by the Ninsei-gata style of tea bowls, it features a gentle groove along the rim that creates an elegant, asymmetrical silhouette and a quiet sense of movement. The bowl’s organic form and layered blue glaze are inspired by natural landscapes — from the smooth contours of stones shaped by flowing water to the shifting tones of coastal skies and calm ocean surfaces. The subtle variations in the glaze evoke the way light reflects across water, while the soft white exterior recalls the texture of weathered stone and natural mineral surfaces. 

Designed and handcrafted by Indonesia-based ceramic artist Ponyee Keramik, each chawan is individually hand-thrown and sculpted, making every piece one of a kind, with subtle variations in shape and glaze that reflect the handmade process. Glazed inside and out, each bowl holds enough volume to prepare two cups of matcha and is designed to be used and appreciated every day.
